DYNAMOS skipper Augustine Mbara says the players support whoever is appointed to coach the Glamour Boys and will back Tonderai Ndiraya to try and win the league championship.

The Glamour Boys slumped to a rare loss to rivals Highlanders on Sunday in the final of the Commander Zimbabwe National Army Charities Shield final at Rufaro.

Dynamos are chasing a fifth successive league title.

Mbara said the environment in their camp has not been affected by changes in the technical team.

“Nothing has really changed. As players, it’s our duty to work with whoever is the coach of the team. We support the coach who is in charge,” said Mbara.

“So, I am saying we will give our best just as we have been doing with the coach that was there.

“But the bottom line is we all have to execute our duties well. We cannot expect to win the league without working for it. It calls for more energy because it seems all teams get satisfaction in winning against Dynamos.”

Mbara believes the Glamour Boys will rise despite experiencing some setbacks in the campaign which led to the dismissal of Mandigora last week.

He said they should not be judged by their loss to Bosso.

“I think we played well, we did our best. We created chances that we could not fully utilise and in football you cannot defend the whole 90 minutes. You make one mistake and you are punished.

“That’s what happened on Sunday. But we will not keep our heads down forever. I am sure we will be able to rise up and win our remaining matches in the league competition,” said Mbara.

DeMbare will host newboys Whawha in their next assignment when they receive Lloyd Mutasa’s boys at Rufaro for the Chibuku Super Cup first round this Sunday.

They will have another home match against Sunday Chidzambwa’s ZPC Kariba in a league encounter afterwards.

“We always play to win. We want to continue pushing hard. This was a Charity Shield final and it’s sad to lose in a final but this is football. It has happened.

“So we just have to forget about it, lift up the spirits of the boys, talk to the boys and keep fighting.

“Yah we have broken the record in a charity shield final which is quite sad. But we want to keep on pushing and I hope in our next match we will stay focused and win,” said Ndiraya.

Highlanders coach Bongani Mafu said the victory would ease pressure on his side in their faltering league campaign.

Bosso meet How Mine in the Chibuku Super Cup first round.

“It’s another battle against a very good team, strongly assembled, and that has given us problems before. But we are looking forward to playing and winning. We dream of that and we will try to do that,” said Mafu.
