For a noble cause many people around the world have acted generously towards other humans and many of these works are never recorded. While one may feel the need to make a remarkable change in someone else’s life it’s not everyone who is available to change another person’s destination for the better. Many of the well known people around the world have made names for themselves but the question is, what are you going to do with your influence? Whether its financial or a social status.

Are you going to use it to benefit others or its meant for personal gain?

Not everyone in this world might be able to answer to these questions and be truthful in their facts. Gospel musician Abraham Matuka hosted a luncheon for ex-inmates at the Chinese Wing Wah restaurant in Harare recently.

The musician is not well celebrated in the country yet he does not only preach through his music but also reaches out to people in a unique way. He has visited prisons in the country sharing the word of God with inmates as well as sourcing funds from corporate organisations so as to help improve the lives of prisoners.

The event which was attended by People Republic of China Arts Director Dr Wu Chuanhua , local and Chinese business personnel as well as church pastors is a community re-integrating program which was funded by motor company Ransbury Mercedes. Matuka said that it is his desire to see former inmates get back into to the society and make progress so that the community will embrace them back without fear or hesitation.

“My wish is to see former inmates merge back into to the society well and make remarkable change in their lives which makes it easier for the community to accept them without fear or hesitation,”

Matuka said. He said that he had invited former inmates who he used to visit while they were in prison and now that they are out they need the support of the local community so that it is easy for them to integrate back into the society.

“If these brothers and sisters are supported they will not go back into crime because they are also human being who people need to forgive and forget their past,” he added.

It is difficult for most inmates to come into terms with their actions especially after they are released from prisons. Some find it hard to get back to re-engage with the society in which they would have originated from which leads them back to the prisons.

For this selfless dedication Dr Chuanhua took the opportunity to honour Matuka for his gesture to the local community with a Chinese honorary ancient handmade plate.

The Chinese community in Zimbabwe and Matuka have enjoyed strong relations as they have supported the various projects he has undertaken and still continue to rally behind the man. Matuka released a single called “China Zimbabwe” in honour of the profound relationships at the beginning of the year.

Dr Chuanhua also recommended people in Zimbabwe to take advantage of vast business opportunities available in China and also encouraged on cultural exchange programs.

The rewards for working for a noble cause might not be visible for people to see with open eyes but in his heart the man surely lives fulfilled.
