She said there was need to host such festivals in efforts to preserve our culture. “With these festivals people are reminded of our cultural values as people will be told how life was in the past,” she added.
Prizes will be given to some groups that will win on the day.

“There will be judges during the day and there will be prizes that will be given to winning groups and visual artistes,” she added.
Black Spears cultural group, Tapitapi Mbira crew, Chitangazuva Band, Madzimbabwe, Dedza, Chauta, some Nyau groups, different traditional dance groups, Mbuya Bona Chimurenga Choir and some sungura groups will be performing at the event. “The musical concert is for celebration of the festival and all performing groups have already confirmed their participation,” she said.

Chitsvedemu said they have invited traditional leaders and some diplomats to the event. “The reason why we have called some diplomats and traditional leaders is for cultural exchange and this will also show how Zimbabweans are determined to preserve our culture,” she said.
