Zanu-PF Mashonaland West provincial youth executive has dropped four of its members, including political commissar Jackson Chizanga, through a vote of no confidence.

They are accused of causing divisions in the province by setting up parallel structures.

Provincial youth chairman Cde Vengai Musengi said the action was in accordance with Article 29:251 of the Zanu-PF constitution.

Also booted out were Cdes Dominic Muza, Menard Waneke and Talent Muduvuri.

At least 24 out of 38 youth league members appended their signatures in support of the motion at a meeting held in Chinhoyi on Wednesday.

“We, the undersigned, constituting the Mashonaland West Provincial Youth League members, passed a vote of no confidence in Cdes Jackson Chizanga, Dominic Muza, Menard Waneke and Talent Muduvuri on November 12, 2014,” reads the petition copied to acting chairman Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi.

“The affirmation and confirmation of the majority of the provincial youth league members is per our signatures appended hereto.

“The aforementioned comrades have set up parallel youth league structures in the province in breach and defiance of the party constitution. They defy protocol and hierarchy as set out by the constitution to suit their selfish agenda.”

Cde Musengi said the quartet disregarded youth league resolutions and fed the private media with falsehoods.

The four also stand accused of disrespecting the First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe through social media over the recently held “Meet the People” rallies, saying they were “unconstitutional rallies”.

In Masvingo, ousted provincial chair of the Women’s League Cde Shylet Uyoyo has hit back at her rivals, who passed a vote of no confidence against her on Tuesday, by passing a counter vote of no confidence against Cde Veronica Makonese and three other members of the league’s executive.

She accused them of promoting factionalism and destabilising the ruling party.

Cde Makonese, had been appointed acting chairlady after some members of the Women’s League passed a vote of no confidence against Cde Uyoyo at the Chiefs’ Hall.

They accused Cde Uyoyo of promoting factionalism, incompetence and dictatorial tendencies in the running of the league’s affairs.

But 24 members of the Women’s League met at the Chiefs’ Hall on Wednesday and declared Cde Uyoyo’s ouster null and void and passed a counter suspension on Cde Makonese and her three other colleagues.

The counter vote of no confidence against Cde Makonese came as 24 members of the Youth League also passed a vote of no confidence against three members of the organ in the province.

Those booted out from the youth league were secretary for administration Cde John Chitoro, Cde Nobert Ndirombe, the secretary of science and technology development, together with Cde Brine Munyoro, the deputy secretary for the Disabled.
