THE ruling Zanu-PF’s Mashonaland West provincial leadership yesterday went into overdrive mobilising supporters to attend the post-inauguration party for President Emmerson Mnangagwa slated for today. The province has mobilised 10 buses to take party supporters to Harare.

Mash West provincial chairman Cde Ephraim Chengeta yesterday sent a circular signed by the province’s secretary for administration, Cde Simbarashe Ziyambi, urging all the party executive members to mobilise supporters for the inauguration.

“As the provincial chairperson, I am urging all our Provincial Co-ordinating Committee (PCC) members to go to the grassroots and mobilise our members to come in their multitudes to attend this historic event. Transport and logistics arrangements are being sorted out and each administration will get a fair share of buses. Long live our President, Shumba Chikara,” reads the circular in possession of The Herald.

A provincial executive member, Cde Tapiwa Chitate, also urged all the patriotic Zimbabweans to attend and witness the remarkable event.

“A new era has beckoned on us. I thank President Emmerson Mnangagwa for defending the founding principles of the country’s revolution in the past few days through the assistance of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces. I call upon all patriotic Zimbabweans to attend this historic inauguration,” he said.

Cde Chitate said they expected that the incoming President to address the issue of the economy as he alluded in his speech at Zanu-PF Headquarters on Wednesday.

“As a province, we also expect that his Excellency Emmerson Mnangagwa will mend the economy,” he said.

Cde Chengeta also urged the province to register to vote as the ruling party aims to exceed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) target of 460 000 registered voters.
