LONDON. — Arsenal are set to make Mario Balotelli their highest-paid player by offering the former Manchester City star a whopping £180 000 per week.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is keen to splash out on Italian ace Balotelli as he seeks to add proven quality to his title chasing squad.
A switch from AC Milan to north London has been mooted all summer.
The potential deal moved a step closer on Wednesday, when Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola suggested “anything is possible” regarding the future of his client.
And according to reports yesterday morning, Arsenal are ready to tempt the player into moving back to the English Premier League with a bumper pay packet that would shatter the club’s rigid wage structure.

Balotelli quit Manchester City in January 2013 after a turbulent two-and-a-half year spell at the Etihad.
He helped fire the club to FA Cup and English Premier League glory, but fell out with manager Roberto Mancini after a serious off-field incidents.

Italian giants Milan snapped up the former Inter man, but new San Siro boss Fillipo Inzaghi is thought to be keen to cash in on Balotelli as he looks to remodel his squad this summer.

Arsenal are prepared to shell out £27m to land the 23-year-old, with Wenger keen to add competition to his frontline of Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo.
Meanwhile, Joel Campbell is being lined up for a shock move to AC Milan.

The 21-year-old Costa Rica striker has yet to play for Arsenal after spending last season on loan at Olympiakos.
But Italian giants Milan have seen enough and want to lure him to the San Siro.
