NORMAN Mapeza is expecting a tough match this afternoon against relegation-threatened Whawha in a Castle Lager Premiership tie.

The Zvishavane miners are in a good position to challenge for the title.

“I am expecting a tough match. We need to be positive and I do not have any injury worries in my camp,” said Mapeza.

Whawha will be missing Nelson Maziwisa, Cleopas Kapupurika and Livingstone Gent, who are not allowed to feature against their parent paymasters as they are on loan.

FC Platinum are still paying the three players and it is the reason why they can’t feature against their former team.

“Who said they will not be playing? I understand they will feature for their club and whether they play or not we still expect a tough match,” said Mapeza.

Musa Ntonga, the Whawha chairperson, confirmed to The Herald that the three will not be available this afternoon.

“We are going to miss Nelson, Cleopas and Gent,” she said. Mapeza welcomes back Tarisai Rukanda and midfield kingpin Gerald Takwara, who has been one of the stand-out players in the league.

On-fire Brian Muzondiwa will be expected to take his tally into double digits if he maintains his form.

Zambian import Obrey Chirwa is another player who is expected to make life difficult for the Whawha defence.
