Veteran gospel musician Mechanic Manyeruke has embarked on a mission to assist poor and needy people in various villages in the country under the banner, “Zimbabwe Road of Love –  Manyeruke Trust”.
Recently, Manyeruke who is known for his touching music donated clothes to disadvantaged people in Sanyati through the aid he received from the US.

The event was held at the Salvation Army Church and was mainly targeted the less privileged people who are in various churches.

Speaking at the event, the“Moses” hit maker said it was an honour for him to be doing charity work and warned churches against greed.

“God called me to preach the gospel of love through music and I am thankful to the American Christian family who nominated me to be a channel through which such charitable works can be achieved in Zimbabwe.

“I am also warning you churches to stay away from greed and ensure that the right people benefit,” he said.

The 61-year-old singer said their next stop in the charity works would be Karoi Hospital.

Manyeruke’s song “Anosimudza Marombe” off his latest album is receiving fair airplay.

Last year a special concert was held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) to celebrate his forty years of success in the music industry.

The father of seven has over 20 albums to his name in a successful career that has spanned more than three decades .

He is one of the best known gospel artistes to emerge from this country and he started his music career in the late 1950s at St Patrick’s Mission in Gweru.
