The Politburo and Commissariat will not stand in the way of Manicaland if the province decides to expel former Zanu-PF secretary for administration Didymus Mutasa for his behaviour, which is alleged to be inconsistent with the revolutionary party’s principles, Secretary of the Commissariat Cde Saviour Kasukuwere has said.

Addressing Midlands Provincial Co-ordinating Council members at Zanu-PF Convention Centre in Gweru last week, Cde Kasukuwere said the Commissariat and Politburo will respect whatever decision was made by Manicaland Province.

He said Cde Mutasa’s fate lay in the hands of Manicaland.

“We hear that there are letters that are being written to us from Manicaland with regards to Cde Mutasa’s issue.  We hope they will do the right thing and we will not stand in their way. If we receive the letters that are said to have been written, the Commissariat will quickly take action and the Politburo will endorse it,” he said.

PEOPLE: DIDYMUS MUTASA

Cde Kasukuwere also lambasted Cde Mutasa for threatening to form his own party and for threatening some of the senior party cadres with unspecified action.

“Cde Mutasa threatened that he will sort us out. How does he intend to do that?  Nyati, (referring to Mutasa) do not start things that you cannot finish. Do not start battles that you cannot fight. Musatange zvamusingagone.

“If you (Mutasa) want to take us head-on we are up for the challenge.  He will retire in pieces.  We discovered that Mutasa was manipulating party programmes such as the Zim-Asset adjustment to manoeuvre his political mileage. He would take every opportunity he got to insult Cde Mnangagwa,” he said.

Cde Kasukuwere said newly-appointed Vice President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa was the right person for his new post.

“We asked ourselves who the rightful candidate is. It was clear that he was the man who could fit in those shoes. Who else could it be?
“He is dedicated, loyal consistent and a man of undoubted credentials.  Appointing Cde Mnangagwa was one of the best decisions President Mugabe has made. This man is not a tribalist,” he  said.

“If you differ in thinking and do not get along well with fellow party members, please do not drag Cde Mnangagwa into your fights,” he said.
