HARARE CITY coach Taurai Mangwiro has called for patience from a section of his club’s supporters after just three three matches into the marathon. The coach believes it is suggest that he has failed after his team has only played three league matches. “I am surprised to hear that I am under pressure as we have a long way to go before the season ends,” he said yesterday.

“Of course, failing to beat CAPS United was a major setback but we have set standards which I believe we have not failed to meet. “We are only three games into the season and we won one and lost two, which is not good enough, but this is not a total failure.

“So I believe we can try and make up for that in our next match against Hwange at Rufaro.” Magwiro believes they have a chance to win tomorrow but will miss the services of some key players like James Jam and Crispen Dickson.

“The team has been playing well but we were a bit unlucky and we have since worked on some of our shortcomings during the week. “We were struggling in attack where we could not find the back of the net and our defence also conceded a lot and we tried to work on all that during this week’s preparations.

“Hwange are in the same situation like ours but we have to give our best so we get a positive result,” said Mangwiro. The Harare City executive, represented by Hope Chizuzu, said they were not yet in a position to decide the coach’s fate as he has a contract that spells out what he has to do and achieve.

“As an executive we always look forward to positive results and I believe the coach knows that and will work hard to achieve that. “He has a contract which shows what is expected of him and he still has time to prove himself,” said Chizuzu.
