HARARE City coach Taurai Magwiro has apologised to supporters for his error during the first leg of the preliminary round tie against AS Adema of Madagascar at Rufaro. The Sunshine City Boys host Zambian side Zanaco in a CAF Confederation Cup first round tie at Rufaro today. Harare City were booed by some local supporters who had come to cheer them after the gaffer only greeted a bay containing Harare City fans.

Supporters from other clubs who had come to support Harare City were not happy and ended up rallying behind the visitors. AS Adema almost capitalised on that, especially after they grabbed their second goal, and piled the pressure on the hosts.

Speaking at a joint Press conference which was attended by supporters representatives from Harare clubs like Dynamos and CAPS United, the gaffer said it was a mistake that he did not gave them their respect and promised never to do the same again.

“I am so sorry to the supporters about the incident which happened last time when you came to rally behind our team. It was not intentional that I only greeted the Vietnam stand that had Harare City sup- porters.

“We had a different situation when we visited Madagascar as everyone united against us and we were very few as they rally behind their teams.

“I believe the tournament is not about Harare City but it can give us national pride if we do well.

“I hope we can open a new chapter from tomorrow’s (today’s) game,” pleaded Mangwiro.
