Literature has had a major impact on the development of society. It has shaped civilisations, changed political systems and exposed injustice. Literature gives us a detailed preview of human experiences, allowing us to connect on basic levels of desire and emotion.

This was evidently reflected by local author Blessmore Mandevhana at the recently held book launch at a local hotel.

Mandevhana launched two books entitled “God is the Answer 2” and “Secrets of Entrepreneurs”. He said people should have a focused mind when they read books rather just read for fun.

“People should stay motivated and inspired after reading the books but they have to be focused, not reading with an aim of fun. My books were inspired by my father. He has a lot of information but does not publish it, so we share stories and this is the birth of my books,” he said.

He said the two books are centred on building the self-inner being.

“‘God is the Answer’ is a book with principles of a Christian, the way we are living. The principles in this book are for everyone not only pastors, prophets, teachers but to the doers of the Word of God. I wrote this book as a reminder that we are supposed to follow as Christians. Many thanks goes to Dr Rev Kadenge and Mr Mubonderi, a Catholic University lecturer who edited my book. For ‘Secrets of Entreprenuers’, the book was edited by Pasipanodya lecturer and chairman of Catholic University. This is a book which is meant to groom leaders, entrepreneurs and business people,” he said.

The panel of discussion at the launch included author Simba Nyamadzawo, Reverend Taurai Maforo and Dr Kadenge among others. Upcoming Afro-jazz fusion Eurphoric Saint-Llyod Jamu put a scintillating performance.
