Peter Moyo and ex-girfriend Mercy Gumbo

Two Utakataka Express band managers Sukol Dube and Spencer Khumulani last week reportedly advised Peter Moyo to stop having multiple love affairs.
A source close to the development said the managers told the Young Igwe, as Moyo is popularly known, that the reports about the musician’s personal life were affecting the image of the band.
“They talked to him about his affairs and told him that he was supposed to be careful with his love life as the issues were affecting the running of the band,” he said.

He said the meeting was held a few days after Khumulani  was appointed as one of the managers of the sungura outfit.
The source said Moyo apologised to them and promised that he would handle his affairs wisely.

Moyo confirmed the meeting but could not give further details.
“We always meet discussing issues affecting the band and when some of these articles are written we discus them,” said Moyo.

Dube could not comment on the issue saying he was in  a meeting and promised to call this writer when he was free.
Khumulani’s mobile phone was not reachable.

Moyo has been linked to a number of women with the latest case involving Botswana singer Slizer who threatened to expose the musician claiming he had lied about their affair. Moyo claimed the reports about his affair with Slizer had affected his relationship with his Zimbabwean girlfriend. In the past Moyo confirmed his alleged relationship with Mercy Gumbo and the two later made counter accusations when they fell out.

The musician went on to claim that he was in a relationship with another girl identified as Melissa.
In 2012,  another of Moyo’s alleged girlfriends died in a car crash along Borrowdale Road. This led to the unearthing of the deceased’s romantic pictures with Moyo in a hotel room.

The cozy images were stored in the deceased’s cellphone and it was not clear how the images ended up circulating on Whatsapp.
Last year,  Moyo clashed with fellow singer Dino Mudondo over a girl named Ruth. Ruth is originally from Gweru and she is a regular at both Mudondo and Moyo’s shows.
