Mr Chiwira said his heart had been producing a whizzing sound for the past four years.
Doctors diagnosed him of a heart problem last year when the symptoms became visible.
“I become dizzy when I stand in front of a class for a long time,” said Mr Chiwira.
Mr Chiwira visited Steve Biko Academic Hospital where he was diagnosed of a valve damage.
“Doctors in South Africa diagnosed me of a valve damage which needs replacing.
“They said they need US$80 000 up front before they can begin the operation,” he said.
At the moment Mr Chiwira is failing to live a normal life due to his ailing heart.
“The heart problem is disturbing my work and my life, I have been teaching for the past 15 years,” said Mr Chiwira.
