Vice President Joice Mujuru has urged Zimbabweans to unite and work together for the successful implementation of Zim-Asset. Speaking at the Zanu-PF election victory first anniversary party hosted by President Mugabe at State House yesterday, VP Mujuru said Zimbabweans should share a common vision to achieve the goals of Zim-Asset within the remaining four years.

“Tiri kutorudunura zvatinoziva zvamakatangira (President Mugabe) kurwira nyika ino, zvamuri kuti ndo-o zvatiri kukanganiswa nevekumavirira neshamwari dzavo nemasanctions avanoramba vachipa nyika yedu,” she said.

“Ini semutungamiriri wemusangano ndiro gwara randiri kuda kukupirai kuti nyika igare zvakanaka. Kuti vanhu vazive kuti takabva muhutapwa, takabva mukushungurudzwa.

“Saka inguva yekuti tichibatana tive pamwechete kuteedzera gwara iri kuti tive nebudiriro inoita kuti vagari vemuZimbabwe tinge tichifara kunzwa kuti hupfumi hwave mumaoko edu.”

VP Mujuru expressed gratitude and appreciation to President Mugabe, First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe and the people of Zimbabwe for their contributions during the elections that resulted in the landslide victory for Zanu-PF.

“We are gathered here to celebrate and appreciate Zimbabweans for the victory during the 2013 elections on July 31,” she said.
“This is the day that we were looking forward to a landslide victory because of the hard work President Mugabe and Amai Mugabe had done; openly educating Zimbabwe on the achievements of Zanu-PF and the goals of the party. This is why we are here today.”

VP Mujuru said President Mugabe moved around the country educating people on Zim-Asset; a document which is now well known worldwide.
“We do not know how to thank you,” she said. “We are surprised you have invited us to party. It should have been us inviting you, but you have decided to host us.

“We appreciate you and Amai Mugabe’s efforts and the way you are leading the party and Government.
“Assist us so that what you have drafted in the Zim-Asset comes to fruition because most of the things require us to have knowledge, skills and expertise within a short period.”

Zim-Asset is a cluster based plan, reflecting the strong need to fully exploit the internal relationships and linkages that exist between the various facets of the economy.

It is anchored on four clusters which are food security and nutrition, social services and poverty eradication, infrastructure and utilities and value addition and beneficiation.
