Pint-sized gospel musician Sabastain Magacha last weekend lost some of his music equipment and gadgets worth about $10 000 to burglars. The incident happened at his residence in Avondale West when burglars broke into his house and took away the valuables.The matter has been reported at Marlbereign police station.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Magacha’s manager Benjamin Rupapa confirmed the matter.

“It happened in the early hours of Saturday when suspected thieves broke into his home. They stole very expensive equipment and gadgets such as hard drives which had two project concepts valued at thousands of dollars, brand new mobile phones and house furniture. The issue is being handled by the police under docket number RRB 2320769,” he said.

Rupapa said the incident was a serious drawback since they were about to submit the project to some partners whom he could not disclose.

“We had planned everything well and it was left for us to submit to the our partners based in Nigeria and South Africa. The project consists of live DVD that had already been concluded. I can’t disclose the partners as of yet because of the deal we signed but in due course will let you know. It’s a smart deal that was set to put us on the continental music map,” he said.

“The project which also had the African Joy proposals and plan had cost us a lot. It was to be released at the beginning of this month and we are afraid that pirates will start printing and selling the product. So far I can warn that whoever is caught with the African Joy Live DVD in the street will be arrested,” he said.

Rupapa said Magacha is set to go for the Nigerian tour and all hope is not lost.

“Our tour is going ahead as planned. It is just that the dates have changed and the reason of the postponement is because we are meeting with some choirs, whom we plan to work with,” he said.

Meanwhile, the “Ridza Bhosvo” hitmaker said all is in God’s hands.

“I have nothing much to say. It is just that I am still in shock if I think of the eventful day. I put everything to God and hope the police are doing their job. Music is my passion. You can steal the projects or songs but you can’t take away the talent,” he said.

“There is nothing that is going to stop me. I will be back in the studio next week, working on a new album. Recently I did the ‘No to Xenophobia’ video together with fellow musicians such as Pah Chihera, Sulumani Chimbetu, King Shaddy and Matthias Mhere, which is already out,” he said.
