Sungura ace Alick Macheso and Leonard Zhakata will tonight share stage at The Platinum (formerly Pick and Save) in Mutare.

Whenever the two musicians meet thrills become the order of the day.

Event organiser Esau Mupfumi who is vying for the parliamentary seat for Dangamvura-Chikanga constituency said he decided to have the show as bonus to voters.

The two musicians promised a well polished act saying people are bound to get the best show ever since they are good entertainers.

Macheso said the show will give fans an opportunity to sample songs from his coming album.

“This is an opportunity to give our fans songs from the coming album. We will give our best as we share stage with one of the greatest talents in this country,” he said.

The musician said it was good that Mupfumi has promised to assist artistes if he wins a seat in parliament.

“He has been assisting a number of musicians and it is good that he promised to keep the good work,” said Macheso.

Zhakata said a lot is expected as they share stage with the king of sungura.

“This is an honour to us and we promise our fans the best of Zora music,” he said.

Zhakata and Macheso will take their act to Chipinge and Chiredzi over the weekend.

Mupfumi said his experience in the music industry will be an added advantage for artistes if he gets a parliamentary seat since he understands some of the issues that are on ground in the industry.

“There are many issues that need to be addressed by our ministry (Ministry of Sport, Arts and Culture) but the ministry needs to be informed by us promoters, the arts governing board and fans,” he said.
