Ma E, Reason and L- Tido

Entertainment Reporter
Three of South Africa’s most gifted rappers will step into a spotlight of a different kind when Vuzu AMP’s newest reality show debuts today.
Broadcasting every Friday at 7pm, Rap Dads mixes up music, fatherhood and manhood into one compelling offering, by taking viewers into the lives of South African rappers Ma-E, Reason and L-Tido.

Ma-E was a founding member of Teargas whose 2006 debut “K’shubile K’bovu” set the rapper on a music career that will soon see the release of his debut solo album. Reason has similarly carved out a highly respectable music career, on the back of his recorded work (including critically acclaimed 2014 record, “Audio High Definition” and his live shows. L-Tido, has proven himself to be one of SA’s most musically adventurous and in-demand rappers since winning the best newcomer award at the 2010 Channel O Music Video awards.

“Rap Dads” will follow the trio as they move between the world of rap music and fatherhood.

Whether it’s buying supplies for school, dealing with their “baby mamas” or just trying to find some quality time to be with their kids, “Rap Dads” shares the challenges these three superstar fathers have, in trying to have it all.

“Rap Dads” premières in the same week that “aYeYe” made its Vuzu AMP debut; a television drama about three friends navigating life, love and advertising in Johannesburg.

Hailed as a hit by the Twittersphere, aYeYe adds to the growing slate of specially commissioned South African content on Vuzu AMP which also includes, “The Real Jozi A-Listers”, “10 Over 10” and the much loved entertainment news daily, “V-Entertainment”.

The show will offer Vuzu AMP’s audience a unique view into what it takes to have a successful music career whilst being a father and a good citizen.

Vuzu AMP was launched last year to give viewers an even more amplified viewing television experience.

Since it went on-air, its popularity has grown at a fast and consistent pace and it’s proving to be a worthy sister channel to Vuzu.

In the end, Rap Dads aims to inspire men – to show that it’s possible to pursue an artistic career in a tough genre, and be a good man and father. L-Tido, Ma-E and Reason are ambassadors for life and their stories are so worth telling.
