ZIMBABWE’S number one junior tennis player, Courtney Lock, remained on course in the International Tennis Federation 18-and-Under South Central Circuit when he beat unseeded Tadiwa Chinamo in yesterday’s quarter-finals at Harare Sports Club. Lock, who is seeded first in this tournament, prevailed over Chinamo 6-3, 6-3 to storm into today’s semi-finals.

Lock then teamed up with Gueninle Abdoul Karir Quattara to dismiss the pair of Chinamo and Kareem Allaf 6-2, 6-4 in the doubles semi-finals.
Lock will take on fourth seed Akram El Sallaly this morning in the singles semi-finals before they team up with Quattara to battle it out against the pair of Uladzimir Dorash and Simon Fiala in the doubles finals in the afternoon.

Dorash and Fiala beat Mark Chigaazira and Sai Nikhil Mannepalli 4-6, 6-2, 11-9 in the other semi-final match.
Alwyn Mushonga lost 5-7, 0-6 to Quattara in the singles quarter-finals.

Nicole Dzenga found the going tough as she went down 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-7 (6) to Oleksandra Andrieieva of Ukraine.
Dzenga also lost in the doubles with her partner Natsumi Okamoto 3-6, 4-6 to the pair of Andrieieva and Caroline Ilowska.

The other semi-final match saw Alice Mcginty and Noa Nederpelt beating Laila Elnimr and Habiba Lasheen 6-4, 6-4.
The tournament continues today with the singles semi-finals and doubles finals. The singles finals will be played tomorrow before the qualifiers for the second tournament takes off.
