Honde Valley TV Association in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation has released a new series, “Dead End”, which premieres on ZTV soon.

The movie stars gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave as Mary, The Herald Business reporter Conrad Mwanawashe as Joseph Mambo and seasoned actor Boniface Chimedza as Rafael.

In a statement, movie director Moses Matanda said the film is a story that educates the public by highlighting crime awareness through entertain- ment.

“‘Dead End’ revolves on a Pentecostal pastor, Joseph Mambo, who is kidnapped and caged for 40 days and nights without food and water by the most powerful and smart criminal, The Prince of Darkness 666 Maselas, for preaching against drug abuse, homosexuality and other social crimes.

“Maselas controls Mbare gangs and sends his gang to steal, rape and kill perceived enemies. The Zimbabwe Republic Police goes after him in full force.

“Rafael Moyo, a young detective, goes undercover to find Maselas but he is forced to kill his partner – Loice’s daughter Doreen who is also on Maselas’ payroll, to prove that he is not a police officer.

“Maselas records the murder and sends it to law enforcement agents who now pursue Rafael for murder,” said Matanda as he gave a summary of the plot.

He said the movie penetrates into the evil act of Maselas who at the end faces the consequences of his actions.

“Rafael is separated from his family and lives a life on the run and his protection now comes only from God or Maselas but there is only one cop who believes Rafael was framed.

“As Rafael kills from inside the ring to eliminate Maselas’ gang, Adele closes in on who the real Maselas is,” he said.

The action-packed series is going to hit the big screen soon and is likely to leave the audience glued to the screens since it has been a long time since the national broadcaster has aired full-length local movies.
