Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Association will hold its first competitive tournament this season, the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf Union Mashonaland West Strokeplay, at Warren Hills Golf Club this weekend.
Claire Minter is the defending champion in the championship division.
Minter was in her own class last season, winning all but one of the tournaments she took part in.
Other golfers expected to take part are Polly Crewe, Brenda Leipe, Margie Brandt, Aullia Alfazema and ZLGU president Thembi Moyo.
Zimbabwe’s professional golfers have been falling on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit rankings.
Bruce McDonald and Ignatius Mketekete are leading the local challenge following the rankings released after the Africom Zimbabwe Open at Royal Harare.
McDonald, who is based in the United States, and Mketekete, are tied on 64th place.
Seasoned campaigner Tongoona Charamba is in 66th place.
The golfers will hope to improve their standings in the Dimension Data in George and the Telkom PGA Championship in Johannesburg.
McDonald and Mketekete have already confirmed their participation in the tournaments.
“I have managed to take part in the first three Sunshine Tour tournaments of the year and I look forward to the next event,” said Mketekete.
McDonald said he was ready for the challenge.
“I will play two tournaments in South Africa before I go back to my base.
“I am looking forward to the two tournaments as the last round of the Africom Zimbabwe Open let me down,” said McDonald.
