1632: Official proceedings have ended here at the Glamis Arena  and that concludes our live updates.

 1629: VP Foh and his delegation has donated $1 000 to ZAS.

1625: Mrs Makoti from Sanyati has won a tractor and $500 from Southern Africa Trading Co.

1611:  ZAS Best Overall winner in commercial entries is Seed Co Limited.

1554: VP Foh has finished his address and is now handing over awards for best exhibitors. He declares the show officially open.

1553: VP Foh has thanked President Mugabe for the hospitality shown to him and his delegation while in Zimbabwe. He says as a small farmer himself, he says, it has been a working visit.

“I look forward to a closer collaboration between our two countries, long Zimbabwe, long live Sierra, long Africa solidarity and long live Africa unity,”

1550: “We have to change the minds of our people for them to see that agriculture is a business,”

1547: He says it is time for Africa to discuss how best they can use technology to improve the lives of the people of Africa. VP Foh says there is lot that African needs to do together by using technology by moving away from labour intensive means of farming to a mechanised means of farming.

1544: He describes President Mugabe as a illustrious statesman who has shown determination despite the burden placed on his back to see his nation’s commitment to self determination.

1541: He says he is pleased that he was invited….Sierra Leone played host to a number a Zimbabwean students during the liberation struggle.

1538: VP Foh is now on the podium and reading the President of Sierra Leone’s speech.

1537: Mr Kudenga has finished his address and he invites VP Foh to address the gathering as well as present awards for the best stands.

1535: Mr Kudenga says the society appreciates Dr Robbie Mupawose who stood down as president. He had served the ZAS for 43 years and the last 13 as president. he has urged farmers to avert veld fires.

1533: Zimbabwe Agricultural Show Society (ZAS) president. Mr Ngoni Kudenga is now on the podium and says there has been an increase  in space taken up this year compared to 2015 which had 70 000 square metres while 2016 has seen 75 000 square metres being taken up.

1512:  The Guard of Honour is now leaving the arena.

143o:  Hundreds have gathered in the Glamis Stadium for the official opening of the 106th Agricultural Show.

1101: President Mugabe and First Lady Dr Grace Mugabe have arrived in the company of their sons Robert Jnr and Chatunga.

 1046: VP Foh is now touring the stands with VP Mphoko.

1038: Traditional dancers entertain officials while waiting for the arrival of President Mugabe.

1034: VP Foh has arrived at the Exhibition Park accompanied by Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko.

1030: Sierra Leone vice president Ambassador Victor Bockarie Foh is today expected to officially open the 106th edition of the Harare Agricultural Show. He is also expected to tour the various stands at the annual exhibition before the official opening later in the afternoon
