ZIFA and the Premier Soccer League yesterday expressed shock and sadness following the death of coach Gishon Ntini. ZIFA communications manager Xolisani Gwesela said football had lost one of the best brains on the domestic scene. “ZIFA is saddened by the death of Gishon Ntini, one of the best coaches to emerge in this country.

“Ntini served the beautiful game with distinction and the football fraternity has lost one of best coaching brains. “We mourn with his family, friends and relatives as everyone grapples with this painful loss. We encourage the family to seek comfort from the Almighty,” said Gwesela.

PSL communications and media liaison officer Kudzai Bare also released a statement from the board of governors. “The Premier Soccer League chairman, board of governors and clubs mourn the untimely passing of former PSL coach, Gishon Ntini.

“Ntini was a great man who was dedicated to producing talented players. His commitment and contributions to the development of local football will forever be cherished. “We convey our heartfelt sympathies to the Ntini family and the football family in this difficult time of bereavement.

“Farewell Lion of Zimbabwean football. May his soul rest in peace,” said the statement.
