PREPARATIONS for the Zimbabwe soccer legends clash with All-Africa greats have moved a gear up as the selection for the local players begins at Rimuka in Kadoma tomorrow.

The event will see the Northern Region legends play against Central Region legends.

Tournament organiser from ICA Sports Consultants, Julius Chakupehwa, said the programme is now taking shape and they are happy with the progress.

“The Northern Region will feature players like Stanford “Stix” Mtizwa, Stewart Murisa, Elvis Chiweshe, Gilbert Mushangazhike, Shepherd Muradzikwa, Carlos Max among others while the Central Region has the likes of John Phiri, Max Ruza, Elvis Muuya, Gerad Phiri, Petros Sibanda, Luke Petros as Benedict Moyo and Jairos Tapera will be satnd in coaches,” said Chakupehwa.

The event is aimed at raising funds for awards and welfare of retired players and has already got tthe backing from Soccer Legends Association.

Some of the legends who have confirmed their participation are South Africa’s Phil Masinga, Neil Tovey and Lucas Radebe, Zambia’s Kalusha Bwalya, Ian Bakala, Laughter Chilembe and Sandras Kumwenda and Nigeria’s Victor Ikpeba.
