THE World Navi Northern Region Division One have postponed the weekend Yadah TV knockout soccer tournament semi-final by a week. The semi-finals had been lined up for this weekend, but will now be staged on November 1 after the administration opted to continue with the Week 30 league fixtures. Northern Region Division One chairman Willard Manyengavana confirmed the postponement of the matches and claimed that the postponement would help the semi-finalists to focus on their league assignments before shifting focus to the Yadah TV Cup competition.

“We would like to announce that the Yadah TV knockout soccer tournament semi-finals have been moved to a later date.
“This weekend we will continue with our week 30 fixtures and the Yadah TV semi-finals will be held next weekend when we will also announce the venues,” Manyengavana said. The championship race is getting intense with a few games to go and all the top three teams managed to win their games over the weekend.

The Yadah TV knockout soccer tournament was launched on September 9 with the top eight teams qualifying for the competition.
Favourites Gunners will face Klifton Kadurira’s Ngezi Platinum while ZRP FC tackle Mushowani in the semi-final fixtures.

Gunners went through after beating Starbill as Ngezi Platinum were better than Bindura in the first quarter finals. Mushowani booked their place by dismissing Lake Harvest while ZRP FC were winners against league table leaders Flame Lily in Chinhoyi.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Region race will this weekend see log leaders Buffalo Junior and Mutare City Rovers clash in a title decider.
Shadreck Magurasave’s Buffalo Junior managed to dismiss another title contender who are now out of the race 1-0 at Vhengere in Rusape.

The win saw the soldiers dislodge Mutare City Rovers who managed a goalless draw to bottom placed Chivhu Stars at Garwe.
