LATEST: President arrives in India President Mugabe

President Mugabe arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport today to attend the third India-Africa Forum Summit where he was welcomed by the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Mr Mr Rajyavardhan Rathore and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to India, Ambassador Maxwell Ranga.

President Mugabe who is accompanied by Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Cde Patrick Chinamasa and Minister of Small Enterprises and Co-operative Development, Cde Sthembiso Nyoni is expected to meet the host Prime Minister, Nahendra Modi tomorrow ahead of the summit scheduled for Thursday at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, which was converted into a makeshift convention centre.

President Mugabe’s delegation was also expected to meet the Indian business community later today.

Already in India is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who arrived yesterday and is attending several meetings ahead of the main summit.

The Summit is going to be one of the biggest gatherings of African countries outside Africa, which is a reflection of the desire on part of both Africa and India to engage more intensively in our quest for a better future.
