Latest: Chikurubi escapee shot

One of the robbers who escaped from Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison after attacking a prison guard with a pick on the head has been shot by the police in Mutare following his re-arrest recently.
Detectives had to shoot Carrington Mutamabarika on the right leg after he attempted to flee.
Acting Manicaland police spokesman Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda said the convict was taken to Mutare Provincial Hospital where he was treated and discharged under guard.
