FC PLATINUM vice-captain Thabani Kamusoko walked away as the biggest winner at FC Platinum’s awards ceremony when he scooped two accolades on Wednesday night.

The former Sundowns and Dynamos player was named Player of the Season and Players Player of the Year at a colourful ceremony at Mimosa Mining Company.

In a season dominated by veterans, the dread-locked midfielder was named among the Castle Lager Premiership Soccer Stars of the Year last year, collected $3 500 for the Player of the season and $1 500 for Players’ Player of the Year awards.

He went home $5000 richer.

“I feel honoured to win the two awards and I dedicate them to my mother Sihle Nkala and my wife Bongile. It was through hard work, commitment and determination.

“We have to go to Africa focused and committed and it will be good for the young players as they will gain exposure. We need to work hard as a team and fans should rally behind us in good and bad times,” said Kamusoko.

Goalkeeper Petros Mhari was voted the most consistent player at the platinum miners and received $1 500.

He received another award when he was named player of the tournament in the Chibuku Super Cup and collected another $700.

Zambian import, Obrey Chirwa, who was a favourite to grace the 2015 Premiership Castle Lager calendar, also had a smile on his face.

The Zambian Under-20 striker went home happy when he got the player of the tournament award in the ZNA Commander of Charities and received $700.

Big forward Donald “Dombo” Ngoma won the Golden Boot award for 2014 and got $750.

He also received the President Special Award which carried $1000.

Wisdom Mutasa went home $700 richer after being named Independence Cup player of the tournament.

There was also a prize for Marshall Mudehwe, who spent eight months on the sidelines following an injury, as he was named player of the tournament in the C.G Msipa Cup.

Tatenda Dzumbunu collected a cool $1000 when he was named the Most Improved Player with youthful defender Kelvin Moyo taking home $1000 when he was named the Most Disciplined Player.
