HOW MINE coach Kelvin Kaindu is expecting a tough match when the miners take on champions CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premiership tie at the National Sports Stadium tonight. The match gets underway at 7pm.

The Zambian said the Green Machine has always given them problems whenever they visit the capital.

“I know we will be playing against a good team. We are preparing for a good, but difficult match. They are motivated by playing in the CAF Champions League in which they shocked African giants and we can’t avoid such truth.

“However, for us, it will be important to collect maximum points. We won the last match and so I am expecting consistency from my side. “We want to continue improving on the log standings. We haven’t signed any new players and we will not be offloading any as of now,” he said.

Last year, the gold miners put an end to CAPS United’s five-match unbeaten run at Luveve and the last time these teams faced off in October last year, CAPS United won 3-2 with Dominic Chungwa scoring an injury-time winner.

The match was hanging in the balance, with suggestions it could be called off, as CAPS United had a lot of players in the Warriors squad who face Namibia in a CHAN qualifier at the giant stadium on Sunday.

But changes made to the national team squad have given Makepekepe the personnel to play this match. “We have had some very good training sessions over the past few days and there’s a real buzz of anticipation about the match,” CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe.

“For every single player, when you play at home and before your own supporters, you have another responsibility and an extra motivation to do better and iron out our mistakes.

“We just want to work for maximum points considering that we lost our previous match. That’s enough motivation for them to work hard.” CAPS United will be without first choice goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda and defender Valentine Musarurwa who are struggling with injuries.

“It’s been a while without them and I hope they recover soon. We will be okay. I think we will manage. We are looking forward to the next game,” he said.
