Janet Jackson recently delighted her fans with a surprise announcement on her birthday — that she has a forthcoming album in the works.

But the biggest surprise came later for the singer-actress, who unknowingly walked into her 49th birthday bash on May 16.

The beauty’s husband, Wissam Al Mana, hosted the secret soiree for the hit-maker and “30 of her closest friends and family’ at LA’s Hyde nightclub, reports Us Weekly.

“Janet thought they were just having a sushi date night,” a source explained.

Among the guests was her brother Jermaine Jackson, who was dressed in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton.

The “All For You” hit-maker was presented with two “beautiful” cakes and danced until 1:30am., the weekly reported.

Janet and the Qatari businessman, who is a billionaire and nearly 10 years her junior, married in 2012 — and she has kept a low profile since that time.

However, the “Control” singer revealed via Twitter on her birthday that she’s ready for the spotlight as she gears up for a world tour and new album.

In a video message shared on the social network she said: “I promised you’d hear it from my lips and now you will.

“This year: new music; new world tour; a new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”

The sister of Michael Jackson’s last studio album was 2008’s “Discipline” — the 11th of her career.

In April, a “missing” flyer went viral on Twitter, begging for information about the return of Janet to the recording industry.

“Seriously Janet, where the home are you? We NEED you back. We miss you. Your fans miss you. THE MUSIC INDUSTRY NEEDS YOU. Come back and show these young whipper-snappers how it’s done!”

The flyer went on to humorously describe her as “last seen looking like she hopped right out of 1997 into 2015. Maybe she’s a time-traveller?”

The “Poetic Justice” actress responded a week later on Twitter, telling her fans that she found it amusing.

“LOL. Too funny, too sweet” she tweeted.

The date of her tour and album release has not yet been revealed. —USWeekly.
