In what promises to be a great Christmas Eve party Jah Prayzah and Winky D are set for a joint show at Club Odyssey in Kadoma starting as early as 7pm. Dubbed “The Show of the Year”, the gig will see the city retaining its glow when two talented performers celebrate with their fans through music and dance. Both Winky D and Jah Prayzah command a huge following and this would be one of their best outings before year end.

Although the Third Generation front man is being accused of being a copycat, he will serenade music lovers with a playlist of old and new songs.

But since music lovers seem not to have enough of Jah, music will be the soul food and it will play on until sunrise.

Jah is arguably the man-of the-moment. He also wrote his own piece of history at the 13th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards by winning a record four gongs including for Outstanding Male Musician, Outstanding Album (Tsviriyo), Outstanding Song (Tsviriyo) and the most coveted People’s Choice Award.

He has taken his brand to another level and he is one youngster to watch out for in the near future. Jah is the sort of musician who does not belong to a particular genre and it is difficult to pigeonhole his music.

However, what is known about him is that he plays nice music. Music that moves revellers. He has done collaborations with the likes of Suluman, Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Ammara Brown.

On the other hand, Zim dancehall star Winky D has proved to all and sundry that he will stop at nothing to remain at the helm of the genre.

Commanding a decent crowd, Winky D continues to develop his sound and recently he introduced a new set and instrumentalist to make his act standout.

The “Musarova Bigman” hitmaker also known by other stage names such as “Biggie” and “Ninja President” , Winky D is a firebrand when it comes to live performances.

It was back in 2002 when Winky D broke out as a DJ from Darkchild Sound System where he partnered selector Garry B.

Two years later, Winky D as a solo performer then unleashed his first track titled “Ndiri Rasta” on Bonslag-produced riddim called Luckspin.

Kudzai Matrongo of Dee Nosh Inc who is organising the show promised music lovers in Kadoma a great time.

He said they have promoted both Jah Prayzah and Winky D before staging sold out concerts and the Wednesday gig was no exception.
