After parting ways with Diamond Studios, Mukudzei Mukombe, widely known as Jah Prayzah, has engaged the services of renowned producer Keith Farquharson.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment yesterday in the capital the musician said engaging different producers will bring a new feel to his music.

“The album is a completely different project and by engaging Farquharson we are trying to bring difference in terms of sound and everything,” he said.

He said they have managed to have a number of traditional songs to match the theme of the album.

“Our main thrust in on tradition on this album and traditional songs dominate,” he said.

As a young musician he vowed to preserve his culture in all albums.

Farquharson, who is based in South Africa, has a strong understanding of Zimbabwean music, having worked with Ilanga, Chiwoniso Maraire, Andy Brown and Oliver Mtukudzi among others.

His work with Jah Prayzah is likely to be outstanding since the musician has come with interesting fusions in the past.

Meanwhile, Jah Prayzah will today invade Beitbridge for a show during which he will sample some of the new songs on the album “Jerusarema”.

He said some of the songs have been well received during his previous live performances across the country.

“I am looking forward to a great show tomorrow, (today) as I will also take the opportunity to sample new tracks from my upcoming album.

“From the shows that I have held recently, some of the songs have been well received by our fans and I am optimistic that those in Beitbridge will also have a great time,” he said.

The “Tsviriyo” hit maker also promised some new dance routines.

“The Third Generation will maintain its energetic dance routines and drills, we are working on a lot of surprises for our fans,” he said.

The musician will then stop in Masvingo on tomorrow where he is also expected to perform before wrapping up the weekend with a family show at Extra Mile on Sunday.
