Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority public relations manager Ms Caroline Washaya-Moyo said the rhino remained the main target of big time poachers and the authority was spending over US$4 million to curb poaching.

She said the poachers and dealers were nabbed under an operation by the authority to protect the endangered species.
Rhinos remain a major target for poachers who sell their products in Asia and the Middle East where there is a lucrative market.
Some of the animal components are reportedly used for traditional purposes.
However, Ms Washaya-Moyo said the Zimbabwe Parks and

HARARE'S next major water source, Kunzvi Dam and water works, has come a step nearer as the Government and Kunzvi  Water Development Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding that gives the firm the green light to start the construction of the long-awaited Dam in Goromonzi.

A special purpose vehicle, Kunzvi Water Development Corporation, was established recently to implement the project under a Build-Operate and Transfer arrangement.
There is an initial budget of US$300 million.

The Kunzvi Dam project seeks to increase deliveries of treated water to Harare by around 50 percent, but critically also takes water from a different river system to the Manyame, where all supply dams are now located, and which will pipe water into the northeast of the city, directly opposite the entry point for Manyame water.
