THE High Court has granted an order to place Hamilton Property Holdings, owned by businessman Frank Buyanga, under provisional judicial management Mr Knowledge Hofisi of Aurifin Capital was appointed the provisional judicial manager. This is the culmination of a High Court application

filed by Ritem, a company that acquired a property from Hamilton Properties in which the occupant is disputing having sold the property in question to Mr Buyanga’s company.

Hamilton Property Holdings has been embroiled in legal battles with its clients over allegedly irregular transactions.
When contacted for comment yesterday, Mr Hofisi said it was premature for him to comment because he had just “embarked on an information gathering process”.
“Yes, I can confirm that the High Court has granted an order for Hamilton Properties to be placed under provisional judicial management with effect from September 18, 2012, and I have been appointed the provisional judicial manager,” he said.

“I have now embarked on an information-gathering process and in due course, I should be able to update stakeholders accordingly. At the moment I can’t say much.” Buyanga, believed to be exiled in South Africa, claimed in May this year, through a weekly newspaper, that Hamilton Properties owns over 500 properties in the country.

He is alleged to have swindled property owners in Zimbabwe, among them, prominent politicians, individuals and businesspeople, through his money-lending business, Hamilton Finance Holdings.
