As an exercise in instant justice, it is certainly on the severe side. But a teenage student sneaking out of school has learned an important lesson after he became impaled on a metal spike as he climbed a perimeter fence.
De Fang (16) impaled his upper-right arm as he tried to flee class at his school in Suixi county, in China’s central Chinais Anhui Province.
His screams of agony alerted his classmates, who then raised the alarm.
Firefighters who had raced to the scene were forced to lift De into the air before cutting the bar.
He was then rushed to hospital, where doctors removed the metal bar in a one-hour operation.
