ZiFM Stereo chief executive Supa Mandiwanzira has been invited to participate in a panel discussion at the Jo’burg Radio Days, Africa’s premier conference for radio practitioners hosted by Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He will address the meeting today.

This is the 3rd edition of radio days and special attention will be given to the recent media reforms on Zimbabwe which saw the licensing of two new national radio broadcasters. ZiFM is the country’s first privately-owned radio station and has been invited to take part in a special panel discussion on Zimbabwe broadcasting reforms.

Mandiwanzira said his participation at this high level gathering of broadcasters from all over the continent is an ideal platform to set the correct record of the broadcast reforms that are taking shape in Zimbabwe and to share with the participants “our experiences in setting up a radio station”.

“It is a great privilege to be part of Jo’Burg Radio days. This is a prestigious event for the serious players in broadcasting in Africa. That we have been invited to be part of the key panel discussion is an opportunity that we will take to learn and share and also give a true picture of the media situation in Zimbabwe. The new dispensation is a significant step in Zimbabwe’s history and we are proud to be part of that,” he said.
