An attempt to fake it as a policeman backfired spectacularly when the impersonator stopped an off-duty officer last Wednesday.

Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni, of Crofton, Maryland, pulled over the Capitol Heights cop for speeding on Route 301 in North Marlboro.
The 29-year-old was driving a white pick-up truck, complete with blue and red police lights in the windshield.
When the real officer identified himself Mastrogiovanni pressed on, the Washington Times reported, claiming to be a military officer from Louisiana.
The officer pointed out that if that were the case he was out of his jurisdiction and contacted county police, adding that having emergency lights in the truck was illegal. With his cover blown Mastrogiovannie fled the scene but was later arrested by Prince George’s County police and charged with impersonating a police officer. — PTI.
