Manzvanzvike IS it possible to heal from the pain that comes with divorce and other day-to-day hurts? When couples tie the knot to live happily ever after, why is it that those oaths are easy to break, and look meaningless as husbands and wives separate mostly in very acrimonious ways? Moillah Ndoro in her book “Suffering Loss” published by AuthorHouse in the United States of America in 2011 gives a personal but hope-filled account of the pain she went through, and how the grace of the Lord enabled her to overcome. In the book, Ndoro touches on the following topics: Suffering heartbreak; emotional loss; battling with depression; the grace of God — my testimony; be released emotionally to receive healing; get healed emotionally; recover from your hurts; waiting upon the Lord — waiting lady; make the right choices; have wisdom — it is free!; Prayer and God’s promises over you, among others. Ndoro, a devoted Christian based in the United Kingdom says, “This is my true life story. All the stressful, heart-breaking events . . . are based on my own personal past experiences.” “Suffering loss” also shows that life is a journey where the traveller can encounter pleasant and unpleasant events, but if they have faith, it is an active choice to believe that with God, nothing is impossible. (Luke 1:37) She also says that the grace of God can locate you from anywhere, even from the grave. In the final chapter she titled “Be still!, Ndoro says, “When the storm is approaching, be still and know that Jehovah is a Mighty God, a Man of War. If we read the book of Exodus 3 and 4, it talks about God equipping and sending Moses so that, he could lead the children of Israel out of Egypt into the Promised Land . . . It is actually very clear in these two chapters that God never mentioned about the issue of the Red Sea to Moses, why?” “Suffering Loss” is a book believers also ought to read in order to understand and appreciate that the Lord is above every situation irrespective of how painful and catastrophic it might be. Ndoro makes reference to the word of God to demonstrate that hers was not a journey she traveled solitarily, for God’s grace was more than sufficient in the aches and pains she encountered. Although Moillah sat for her Ordinary level exams three times, Zimbabwe-born she now holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and an MSc degree in Analytical Biosciences and Drug Design from the University of Salford in the UK.
