President of the Chinese firm Tiens Mr Kevin Hou yesterday said his company is set to venture into diamond mining as part of their diversified programme in Zimbabwe. Speaking shortly after his arrival at Harare International Airport yesterday, Mr Kevin

said a special delegation from Tiens headquarters is on its way to meet Government officials over their proposal. Mr Kevin is in Zimbabwe to spearhead their new programmes.

He was welcomed by Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Kumbirai Kangai and his wife Miriam.
Tiens is an international company involved in marketing Chinese traditional medicines.
“Tiens will in the following month send a special delegation to meet with President Mugabe in open dialogue and formalising our wish to venture into diamond and platinum mining in the country.

“This is part of my visit to Zimbabwe today and we are hoping to co-operate with Zimbabwe companies in this huge business plan.

“Zimbabwe has vast business opportunities and a good market hence we are looking forward to expand our activities in this country,” he said.

Mr Kevin said his company will take legal action against people selling counterfeit products in Zimbabwe.
“Tiens products are certified and there is no other company which produces the same products.

“We are warning people to be wary of counterfeit products and we will not hesitate to take legal action against counterfeits,” he said.
Country manager Mr Lei Li said there are about 100 000 Tiens distributors in Zimbabwe.

“Tiens offers health food products which are able to supply nutritional demands of every person. The products are subject to continuous research and development,” he said.
