FORMER CAPS United striker Last Chibwiro netted a brace as leaders Power Master ran riot over Aces Youth Academy, winning 4-1 in a Zifa Northern Region Division One match at Dzivarasekwa yesterday. The victory saw Power Master, formerly Kiglon, maintaining their 100 percent run in the league as they notched their fourth win and are on top with 12 points.
Two quick goals by Chibwiro in the fifth minute and a penalty in the seventh minute extinguished the hopes of winless Aces.
Chibwiro, who has also played for Motor Action then completed his hattrick in the 52nd minute.
Aces, who later crept back into the game  got their consolation goal in the in the 54th minute when Collins Dhuwa converted a penalty.
But seven minutes later Power Master’s Wilbert Magunje killed the match as a contest when he scored his side’s fourth goal.
The youthful Aces outfit, who returned into Division One this season and have only played two games, lost their first match last week when they went down 2-0 to ZPC Kariba at home and will have to wait another day to bag their first point.
However, Aces coach Expense Chitukutu, said their aim is not to win matches but groom players.
“It was a tough match. My players are still young, they were born in 1995 and they are trying their best. They are losing concentration here and there otherwise they are improving. We are not here just to win matches but to develop and groom national team players,” said Chitukutu.
Power Master coach Tonderai Marume was elated with another fine day in the office.
“It looks like things are going our way but this is just the beginning. We managed to score early goals and continued to attack for more goals. We are now looking forward to the match against ZPC Kariba at the weekend,” said Marume.
ZPC Kariba yesterday beat Black Rhinos 3-2 at Chaminuka to ease into second place, setting up an exciting top of the table clash against the log leaders this Saturday.
Eiffel Flats were displaced from the second spot as they lost 0-2 to Skylink at Danny Bismarck while Twalumba also picked up their first win when they beat Mwana Africa 2-1 at Trojan.
