HARARE City coach Taurai Mangwiro wants his side to be more dominant at home and has challenged his charges to raise their game when they clash with FC Platinum in a league game at Rufaro this afternoon. The Sunshine Boys are still to make a statement this season following a slow start to their campaign.

“We would want to be dominant at home but usually it’s not that easy. So we have to apply ourselves so that we get a positive result.

“We know FC Platinum, nothing has changed with their usual passing game. So we hope to close them down and try to score goals, which has been one of our weaknesses.

“We would want to maximise playing on home turf and hopefully we get maximum points against FC Platinum, which will be a huge morale booster anyway ahead of our weekend game against Dynamos,” said Mangwiro.

The Sunshine Boys welcomed back national Under-23 player Munyaradzi Diro Nyenye, who missed their last trip to How Mine, in a game which ended goalless. Midfielder Tendai Samanja is also back to full fitness after spending three weeks on the sidelines while goalkeepers Tafadzwa Dube and Maxwell Nyamupangedengu have managed to shake off knocks. FC Platinum are also hoping to have back in the fold the trio of strikers Donald Ngoma, Walter Musona and Brian Muzondiwa who missed the previous two assignments nursing light knocks.

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza Mapeza however, was worried about fatigue and lack of training time after his team made two trips to Harare inside one week. ZPC Kariba and Chapungu will clash in another rescheduled league match at Ascot this afternoon.

ZPC Kariba coach Saul Chaminuka said this is a grudge match since they needed to revenge on the pain inflicted on them by Chapungu last season.

“They were the first team to beat us last season when we had stretched our league run to something like 19 games. It was a painful experience.

“We are going to play them at the same venue and to us it’s more like a grudge match. They were still keeping their fingers crossed over the availability of defender Dennis Dauda who was injured during the Independence Cup match against Dynamos last Wednesday.

He was joined in the casualty ward by Terrence Gonzo who is nursing a groin injury.
