HOW Mine failed to build on their victory over champions CAPS United as they were held to a goalless draw by ZPC Kariba in a Castle Lager Premiership match at Luveve yesterday. Coach Kelvin Kaindu said nothing worked for his men yesterday. The home team finished the match with 10 men after Stephen Nyambabvu saw red in the 88th minute for a second bookable offence.

ZPC Kariba’s Samuel Makawa missed a chance to beat How Mine’s Munyaradzi Diya in the 70th minute when he miscued the ball from inside the box after being set up by Limited Chikafa.

Diya made another crucial save in the 76th minute by punching Never Tigere’s blistering shot that was headed for the top left corner.

In the 81st minute, Kuda Musharu shook off ZPC Kariba players and released Peter “Rio” Moyo, who found an unmarked Toto Banda advancing towards goal, but he skied his effort.

“I can’t single out anyone, but I think the whole team was just not clicking today. We tried several formations during the match, but we didn’t come to the party and I think we have to even thank God for that point because we didn’t deserve it,” said Kaindu.

“We were not ourselves today.”

ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa was satisfied with a point away from home.

Meanwhile, Bigboy Mawiwi started life as the Hwange coach with a bang as he led the coalminers to a 4-0 thrashing of whipping boys Tsholotsho at the Colliery yesterday.
