After more than a month of touring the United States of America and Germany with Onebeat and Kuenda productions, Mbira queen Hope Masike will tonight host a homecoming show at the Book Café.

Dubbed ‘‘Hope Masike Home Coming Concert’’, the show will feature Hope’s former drummer Blessing Chimanga and Munya Matarutse will be the opening act.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, Hope said she is happy to be back home after such a long time and promised the best show tonight.

“Home is best and I had missed home so much, one and a half month is a long time away from home. It just feels good to be performing at home in-front of your family and friends.

“I am ready for the show and I am going to deliver my best tomorrow (tonight),” she said.

Commenting on the artists she will be sharing stage with tonight, she said both the artists are her friends so they make a good combination.

“We decided to share the stage with Munya Matarutse because we are great fans of his music and he is just phenomenal on stage. As for Blessing, he was an obvious choice because he knows the music having played with my band for a long time,

“He is also just a delight to see when he is on stage. He is that ‘‘crazy’’ on stage so we all thought it was good to bring these two on our stage and give our fans a night to remember,” she said

Chimanga on the other hand promised a great show.

“I am promising a great night; it’s a special night for us having spend a month together in the US. I am also glad that she had given me the opportunity to be part of her show, after having worked with her for four years before starting my solo career,

“I am also going to take the opportunity to introduce my new single “Maruva enyika” that is set to be released next week,” he said.
