THE cracks were clear at the memorial service and funeral of Nkululeko “Flabba” Habedi that Infadizle was done with his childhood crew.

What’s more, he gave the band’s appearance on Channel O’s Stripped Down a miss. That appearance was the last Flabba graced along with his fellow bandmates.

Infa has now released a video of his first single from his upcoming album. Speaking to Time Out, the rapper, whose real name is Sechaba Kgala, confirmed our suspicions.

“Yeah, I’m no longer part of the group, but I’ll be with the guys just to do a few tributes for Flabba and also to record a song. But I’m not with them because I’m trying to push my career.”

The video of the song “Bang Bang” features Flabba as a club owner and a pimp who gets robbed by employees.

“It was fun shooting the video with him. I hung out with Flabba more than anyone else in the group and no one else could play the club owner/pimp character like him,” Infa reminisced. Flabba also featured on one of the songs on Infa’s “Black Power” album.

“The song is done, we’re just trying to change the title of the song and its chorus and I will dedicate it to Flabba.”

“It was about telling the truth about this group that made it from nowhere and just fell apart for no good reason,” he said.

Infa said he still needed to record two more songs before going for mixing. He said his album should be out around June. Skwatta Kamp is yet to record the Flabba tribute song, and Infa isn’t sure what the chemistry in studio will be when they finally enter the recording booth. – Sowetan.

Flabba was fatally stabbed, allegedly by his girlfriend Sindisiwe Manqele, earlier this month at his home in Alexandra. Manqele is out on R10000 bail. – Sowetan.
