Sikhumbuzo Moyo in BULAWAYO
BULAWAYO giants Highlanders have added another Zimbabwe international player to their squad for the 2014 football season after sealing the deal to bring Felix Chindungwe to the former champions on Monday. The experienced defender, who has been a rock at the Gamecocks in the last two years, even trained with Bosso yesterday.

His arrival is expected to steady the Bosso ship, which cracked at the wrong time conceding four goals to Harare City with the championship in sight last year.

The duration of his contract and other terms could not be established last night.
Highlanders have been ruthless on the market in bringing Njabulo Nyoni from Chicken Inn, Khumbulani Banda from How Mine, Welcome Ndiweni, Joel Ngodzo and Charles Sibanda from FC Platinum as well as the highly-rated Valentine Ndaba from Shabanie Mine.

Chindungwe confirmed that he had trained with Highlanders and was warmly welcomed at Bosso.
“I have just attended the first training session and I was warmly welcomed by the technical team and the players,” said the central defender.

He said he was still to decide how long he will stay at Bosso.
The Warriors’ 2014 CHAN poster boy, Kudakwashe Mahachi, is also certain to don the famous black-and-white kit together with former skipper Zephania Ngodzo.

Zephania is expected to plug the right position which has been a problem area for Highlanders in the last two seasons.
Bosso boss, Peter Dube, said the Chindungwe deal was yet to be concluded.

“We are yet to seal the deal but we remain very confident that the player will be ours this season. Negotiations are progressing smoothly,” said Dube.

With the arrival of Chindungwe, Highlanders will now have four central defenders in skipper Innocent Mapuranga, his deputy Eric Mudzingwa and Dumisani “Fazo” Ndlovu.

This will probably see Mudzingwa reverting to his traditional midfield position or compete at right-back where he made some cameo roles last season.

On Mahachi, the Highlanders chairman said while no paperwork has been sealed, they too remained hopeful that the young midfielder will turn out for Bosso.

“I am also confident that we will get him (Mahachi). Talks are on-going and are very promising,” said Dube.
Bosso are expected to seal all the deals before the weekend Bob@90 Super Cup semi-final tie against Harare City at Barbourfields.

Highlanders, though, are likely to be without head coach Kelvin Kaindu who is set to fly out of the country this week to attend to some private business.
