Zimbabweans are set to get a feel of the latest technology on offer in terms of stage work during the upcoming Permican awards. “Permican”, which stands for Prophets Emmanuel and Ruth Makandiwa Invitational Concert Awards Night, is an initiative to recognise and motivate Zimbabwean gospel artists.

The awards ceremony will feature a high technology stage that is set to ensure that the event meets world class standards. Zimbabwean gospel singers are billed to perform at the annual awards that will be beamed live on Christ TV.

Christ TV director Pastor Ted Lazaro said that a team of regional experts were consulted to help set up the hi-tech stage and enable live online broadcasting of the event.

“The event will see high tech motorised digital screens for a vivid and mesmerising view, as we shall also be live streaming on Christ TV satellite based channel and website to connect the world as we showcase the best of Zimbabwean gospel artists.”

The motorised digital screen is a first of its kind to hit Zimbabwean stage and the organisers of the awards are proud to bring such technology to Zimbabwe, as this surely opens up doors to up our standards in entertainment.

Powered by their world class public address system, which made headlines as the first of its kind in Africa a few years ago, Christ TV is upbeat that the awards night will set an unprecedented standard in Zimbabwe.

Live streaming services although not so popular in Zimbabwe is another very cheap way to broadcast and share any event live on the internet, without any need to go through the airwaves broadcasts which is always costly and demanding to set up.

This is a simple but sophisticated way to push video and audio up the internet servers at a constant speed before sharing it to the world from remote online servers, with little delay signals to connect the world from any location.

TechnoMag, Zimbabwe’s leading technology magazine will also be streaming these awards, embedded on their website platform in real time to showcase their technological prowess to their high tech readers.

Pastor Ted said that winners will be awarded with trophies and cash but artistes that win in absentia will only be awarded with a trophy.

The categories include Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Group, Best Producer and Best Collaboration amongst others.

The award are set to be held at the national city sports centre this Saturday, the 19th of September and nominees have been released ahead of the second ceremony.
