LONDON. — Thierry Henry says Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger made the wrong decision in substituting Olivier Giroud 22 minutes into his side’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday.

The striker was replaced by Gabriel after Per Mertesacker had been sent off for a foul on Diego Costa.

After the game, Wenger explained that he wanted to keep the pace of Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell on the pitch, but Henry felt Giroud was the wrong man to bring off. “When Theo stayed and Olivier Giroud went off, we all thought it was because he wanted to go in behind and attack.” — Goal.com
