Harare Agricultural Show Official Opening

1550: The President is now presenting awards to the various stands that excelled.

1545: President Mugabe has officially declared the 104th edition of the Harare Agricultural Show ending his speech.

1544: “I’m delighted by the increased participation of the various Government ministries and departments…it goes a long in understanding the facilitatory role of Government.”

1542: “Our people, also, need to be educated in employing correct farming methods that result in substantive production.”

1540: “Generally cotton, sugar and horticultural produce did better than the past season..we hope this trend continues, i must commend the players in the agricultural sector. All stakeholders are however urged to be fully prepared for the 2014/15 agricultural season.”

1538: “We must industrialise, have factories to add value to what we have produced….I have been to stands with exhibits of high quality products and services.”

1532: “Zim Asset is a robust and comprehensive strategy anchored on mutually reinforcing clusters.”

1530: President Mugabe is now addressing the gathering.

1528: Zimbabwe Agricultural Society  acting president, Ngoni Kudenga, invites President Mugabe to officially open the 2014 edition of the show.

1446: President Mugabe inspects the Guard of Honour mounted by the Presidential Guard.

1442: The President has arrived at Glamis Stadium.

1345: People have now gathered at the Glamis Stadium ahead of the official opening this afternoon.

1200: President Mugabe has toured a number of stands so far and these include Tel One and Zinara among others. His tour continues.

1142: Congo-Brazzaville First Lady Antoinette Sassou-Nguesso says she is impressed by the contribution of employees and employers towards the Aids Levy.
