LIKE the proverbial phoenix that rises from the ashes, gospel musicians Pastor Haisa and David Mabvuramiti are poised for a major comeback when they feature as guest artistes at the annual Cross Over Night of the Victory Power International Ministries scheduled for Limbani Shopping Centre at Zengeza 5, Chitungwiza on December 31. The two artistes who made waves between the 1990s and 2000s will be joined on stage by talented gospel outfit, African Praise to usher congregates in praise and worship at the conference that is expected to attract thousands of worshippers from various denominations.

The artistes are expected to thrill visitors from the ministry’s Zimbabwean branches as well as those in Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town.

According to Pastor Joe of Victory Power International Ministries, the choice of picking out the musicians was prudent in their goal of winning souls.

“We decided to engage Pastor Haisa, David Mabvuramiti as well as the talented upcoming gospel group, African Praise who are household names in their own right and command huge crowds.

“The church’s vision is to win 2 billion souls for Christ and it is in that vein that we continue deploying our pastors wherever God directs.

“We also believe that gospel musicians also have a mandate mission of fulfilling this mission hence the decision to rope then in,” Pastor Joe said.

Pastor Haisa is expected to take congregates down memory lane with his yesteryear hit songs like “Uchava Mufaro”, among others, that made him one of Zimbabwe’s finest gospel artistes.

Recently, the gospel music legend also collaborated with young artiste Sabastian Magacha on a song that he is also expected to play at the convention.

To those with a long memory, Pastor Mabvuramiti first made his name at the Jairos Jiri Band after he filled in the gape that was left in the group following the incarceration of its leader, Paul Matavire.

He then repented and turned to gospel music, with his popular hit song being “Mune Simba Muropa RaJesu”.

Meanwhile, Bishop Believe and Pastor Mitchell Paradise said the convention was part of their annual conferences they have held this year.

“Within a year we have hosted four major conferences including the Easter Conference, Moments of Champions as well as the Cross Over Night, ever since the We formed the ministry was formed in December 2013.

“Within a year the church has built a 2000-seater shade where services are held twice every Sunday from 8-30 to 12 pm and 6-8 pm for the evening services.

“The conference has a God-given mandate to empower people and deliver them from any bondage that stops them from realizing what God has ordained for them,” Bishop Believe said.
