Zimbabwe Publishing House stole the show at the ongoing Zimbabwe International Book Fair when they disclosed “Nhaka Youpenyu Book 3” as the source of the popular phrase “gore rino tichadzidza zvakawanda”. Representatives at the ZPH stand were kept busy as visitors thronged to get a glimpse at the book whose phrase has taken social interaction platforms by storm.

A prominent passage in the book reads: “Gore rakapera taiva mugwaro chipiri. Iye zvino tava mugwaro rechitatu. Gore rino tichadzidza zvakawanda.”

The book was flanked by larger than life banners advertising it

“We knew very well that Nhaka Youpenyu book was the source when the frenzy started because the book had been revised in 2013. The phrase is taken off the third line of a comprehension in the book,” said ZPH marketing executive Target Matete. The book was originally published in 1984 by the late Gabriel Matindike and was revised in 2013 with the support of various authors.

Matete added that the company was enjoying an increase in its book sales as the book was marketing itself through the frenzy. Besides the popular editions of “Nhaka Youpenyu” the publishing house boasts a wide variety of primary and secondary school text books for all subjects.

Also on display were local novels, tourism books and other text books that the company had on display.

The ZPH was one of the many exhibitors drawn from different parts of the country at the fair’s exhibition since the public displays of books started on Wednesday.

The exhibition came two days into the book fair and attracted students and officials from a number of learning institutions across the country.

The ZIBF also hosted an Indaba Conference that tackled topics like Research, Writing and the Creative Industries, Marketing and Distribution of Books and Book Policy.

The Young Person’s Indaba also opened discussions on “influencing national development through writing from research”. The Book Fair closes tomorrow.
